One Man Will Fight to the Beat of a Different Drum
Aris came about in a few different ways. One, mainly being that we were unsatisfied with the recent martial arts films of today, which are highly concentrated with special effects and wirework. The second, came from the love and imagination of World Music. Music is the backbone of the project, and I imagined a unique take on the genre by orchestrating classical instruments from around the world with new tech sounds. Top it off with the love of Frappé, and you get a very different kind of martial arts film....
I tried to bring back the excitement, energy, and talent that made the films of 1980s Hong Kong Cinema so amazing. Complex fight choreography & stuntwork, with no special effects or wirework.
Greatly influenced by the films of Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, and Tony Jaa, I imagined "Aris" as an homage to the great martial arts films while making it unique to our vision and our New York City influences.
I would like to thank the whole cast and crew for
coming
together and creating an amazing film that the
whole
world will see and enjoy.
